Dick’s Opens at San Diego’s Carmel Mountain Plaza

Pittsburgh, PA-based Dick’s Sporting Goods is opening a new store at Carmel Mountain Plaza in San Diego. The 520,228-square-foot power center is owned by San Diego-based American Assets Trust.

The full-line omni-channel sporting goods retailer joins a mix of national and regional tenants at Carmel Mountain Plaza. The center, which is located on the Interstate 15 corridor at Carmel Mountain Road and Rancho Carmel Drive, serves the upscale, inland communities of Rancho Bernardo, Poway and Carmel Mountain Ranch.

The store is one of three the retailer is opening nationally this month. The other two stores are in Lake City, FL and Bellingham, WA.

The three openings will bring Dick’s national store count to 694. The retailer said each new location will add roughly 215  jobs to a community, including full-time, part-time and temporary associates.
