Dick’s House of Sport to Open First California Store in San Diego

Dick’S’s is bringing its first House of Sport store concept to California with a 158,000-square-foot location at The Valley shopping center in San Diego’s Mission Valley. The expanded store concept will occupy the historic former Macy’s building at the 1.1-million-square-foot center, which is undergoing redevelopment by partners Lowe and Real Capital Solutions.

“We are creating a modern, dynamic retail experience that pulses with energy and creativity, giving visitors compelling opportunities to connect, and more reasons to visit, linger. eat and shop.” said Todd Majcher, Lowe EVP. “DICK’S House of Sport will amplify that spirit with the wealth of delightful new experiences it will offer guests at the newly renamed Mission Valley Shopping Center, which will now be called The Valley.”

Set on more than 41 acres, The Valley has maintained its position as a popular retail destination since its debut in 1960. Lowe and RCS acquired the property in 2023.
