Development Veteran Tepper Hired by Governors Island Trust

The Trust for Governors Island hired Christopher Tepper as chief development officer. Most recently with Hudson Companies, Tepper has more than 12 years experience in the private, public and nonprofit real estate sectors.

In his newly-created role, Tepper’s responsibilities will include overseeing the adaptive reuse of nearly one million square feet of historic former military buildings, and activating 33 acres of ground-up development area with academic, commercial, nonprofit and cultural facilities. He’ll also oversee a $100-million capital plan to support expanded access and future development on Governors Island.

“Chris brings an extraordinary track-record for delivering transformative projects that have enlivened neighborhoods and created jobs throughout New York City,” said Clare Newman, the Trust’s president and CEO.

Along with serving as a director at the Hudson Companies, Tepper has also held senior positions with Jamestown Properties and the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation.
