Developers Building Up Urban Entertainment Destination
Upland, CA-based Lewis Group of Companies and Irvine, CA-based Pendulum Property Partners are proposing an urban entertainment district in Ontario, CA. The developers want to add a restaurant-row component into an area where a mix of multifamily, retail and hotel uses are planned.
Pendulum Property’s lifestyle center project is on a 12-acre site along Via Piemonte, north of Citizens Business Bank Arena. Lewis is developing a 570-unit apartment community surrounding the Pendulum project.
Lewis is also developing a 95,000-square-foot grocery-anchored shopping center on an adjacent 13-acre site at Haven Avenue and Fourth Street. Arizona-based Glacier House Hotels plans to develop a 131-room Element by Westin next door, on 4.5 acres.
The hotel and first apartments are expected to deliver by 2019, while 12 restaurants and brew pubs are slated to open in 2020.
