Braker Commons

Developer to Launch Domain Hotel Project

Braker Commons plans call for a 10-story, 237-key, 126,321-square-foot hotel and a second 3,000-square-foot building at the northeast corner of the North MoPac Expressway and West Braker Lane intersection. Friend Development Group is helming the project.

The Austin Business Journal reports that the hotel operator has not yet been selected. Friend expects to have a robust food and beverage program.

Braker Commons’s hotel will have a single basement level and 10 floors totaling about 126,000 square feet, rising to a height of about 128 feet.

The second building is proposed for restaurant and retail uses, and it will rise 22 feet at the southern end of the property. Friend said a more specific use for the building has not been decided upon.

Nearby, Cousins Properties is planning a 13,440-square-foot restaurant development beside one of its office buildings off Alterra Parkway.
