Developer Team Eyeing Columbia, SC for Mixed-Use Project
Astral Development and Steady Capital are set to develop a 483,106 square-foot mixed-use multi-family project at Bull Street and Elmwood in Columbia, South Carolina. Astral Development assembled eight adjacent properties, totaling approximately 2.06 acres, and will develop a 288-unit Class A apartment project — with ground-level opportunities for future restaurants, retail and fitness.
The development is on track to submit permits later this year and break ground in spring 2026.
The project’s residential portion will comprise 288 Class-A apartment units, including 236 single-bedroom units, 33 two-bedroom units, and 19 three-bedroom units, along with a structured parking facility featuring 376 spaces. The residential ground level will include a fitness center, lobby, leasing office and a dedicated space for bike parking.
In addition to the residential portion, Astral Development is offering 22,000 square feet of leasing opportunities designed for restaurateurs, retailers and fitness tenants.
Crosland Barnes Group is managing leasing opportunities for the ground-level retail space, with support from Cushman & Wakefield.
