Leifer gets Austin OK's for sizable Mixed-use project in St. Elmos

Developer Receives OK for St. Elmo’s Mixed-Use Project

The city’s St. Elmo neighborhood, which is largely industrial, is seeing rapid change. Leifer Properties has been given a thumbs up from the Austin Planning Commission to rezone property encompassing a number of addresses on Industrial Blvd. and Willow Springs Road, from industrial to mixed-use.

The 4.7-acre site, where the company plans to build roughly 700 multifamily units and over 10,000 square feet of retail space, is currently occupied by a large industrial warehouse. A total of 68 units across both sites are planned to be made available as affordable housing for those earning between 50 and 80 percent of the region’s MFI.

The amendment would increase the site’s maximum building height to 125 feet.
