Developer Plans to Acquire, Refurbish Historic Baltimore Office Building

Baltimore-based developer Byrnes & Associates Inc. plans to acquire and refurbish a city-owned office building at 7 E. Redwood Street in Baltimore, Maryland.

Plans call for the building to continue to be used as office space. The company has been selected by the Baltimore Development Corporation to acquire the 20-story, 184,275-square-foot building. Built in 1924 as the headquarters for the First National Bank, 7 E. Redwood Street is 100 percent leased.

Following the final sale transaction for the 20-story, 185,000 square foot building, Byrnes & Associates’ total investment in four Baltimore City-area assets and the surrounding neighborhood is expected to surpass $50 million.

The project is being led by principals Brad and Kemp Byrnes, along with Michael Gaines, Sr. “We intend to establish the Historic Redwood Walk, which will eventually be an East-West Walk from Port Discovery to CFG Bank Arena to 4MLK/UM BioPark,” said Byrnes.
