Dart to develop Ft. Worth Central Library site

Developer Pays $18M for Ft. Worth’s Central Library

Dart Interests has acquired the Fort Worth’s Central Library for $18 million. The library was closed in May after the city reported it had seen a steady decline in visits.

The building, which spans three floors and totals 250,000 square feet, will be demolished and Dart Interests will redevelop the site…to turn it into a mixed-use development. Dart’s Christopher Kelsey added, “We look forward to working with the city and its downtown residents and workforce to bring to life a development that gives more people the opportunity to live, work, play, and experience all that Fort Worth has to offer.”

A JLL team headed by Todd Burnette and David Berzina was engaged by the city to oversee the sale and development of the property. Berzina says to look for big changes, “The development will potentially include 20-story buildings, adding a signature appeal to Fort Worth’s skyline and ushering in fresh opportunities and growth for the area.”
