Developer Duo to Build Leander Office/Retail

Austin’s northernmost suburb is trying to become more than a bedroom community. Leander will soon welcome its first downtown office building, the beginning of what town leaders and developers believe will be much more to come. Northline and St. John Properties are teaming up on a 120,000 square foot office building that will include 15,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space. The duo is expected to start work on the project early next year and wrap construction up in the first half of 2025.

The Austin Business Journal reports developers eventually aim to have 5 million square feet of office, retail, residential, hotel and civic space as well as a signature park. The site is between U.S. Highway 183 and the 183 toll road.

Northline representatives previously said the investment would likely top $1 billion at full buildout over the next decade or so, especially with rising construction costs.
