Duo seeking design approval for SA Residence Inn

Developer Duo Eyeing SA Residence Inn

All a pair of hotel developers need to start work on a $58 million Residence Inn in San Antonio is approval from the Historic Design Review Commission (HDRC). Once that’s secured, the hope is to start work on a 171-room hotel in the third quarter of 2024. Their plans are to open the Marriott-branded project in 2026.

Merritt Development Group and Georgia-based Peachtree Group are teaming up on the 124,000-square-foot project. It would also include 775 square feet of meeting space, a fitness center and ground-floor dining.

Peachtree Group is the owner-operator, closing on the parcel in October 2023. Memphis, Tennessee-based BGKT Architects has designed the 10-story project. The HDRC will vote on the plans at an upcoming meeting.
