Developer-Builder JV Targets $1B in O-Zone Projects

A trio of Chicago real estate veterans has launched Decennial Group, a national platform to invest in Opportunity Zones. The joint venture of Farpoint Development, Clayco and CRG is targeting $1 billion in real estate and renewable energy projects.

Decennial touts its status as a vertically-integrated developer-builder platform in the burgeoning OZ investment scene. At Farpoint, Decennial co-founder Scott Goodman is lead developer on Burnham Lakefront, a South Side OZ project encompassing more than 100 acres.

“Revitalizing neighborhoods and generating strong returns for investors has been at the core of my work for decades, and those same principles are at the heart of the Opportunity Zones program and its incentives,” said Goodman.

“Decennial will make smart, long-term investments throughout the country, but we will begin by capitalizing on deep relationships and an already strong pipeline of deals in the Heartland, where we have unparalleled investing experience,” he added.
