Developer to Build El Paso Low-Income Housing

Tropicana Building Corp., which develops affordable and low-income housing, is ready to embark on its next project. Armed with $5.5 million in federal tax credits, the El Paso-headquartered builder will soon launch construction on the 48-unit South Homestead Palms apartments.

The project at Krag Street and Connolly Drive in El Paso is scheduled to begin during summer 2017, and to deliver by spring 2018. South Homestead Palms is Tropicana Building’s third low-income apartment complex in the Montana Vista area in East El Paso County. The other two complexes have a combined total of 96 units.

Tropicana Building is also developing the 152-unit River Palms at Zaragoza Road and Pebble Hills Boulevard in far East El Paso. The $21 million complex is scheduled to deliver in summer 2018.
