Design Honors for Midtown Office
The 897-foot tower rising at 425 Park Ave. has already won a design award, even though it won’t open till 2018.
The MIPIM Architectural Review Future Project Awards 2017 awarded a commendation in the office category to the tower. The design by architects Foster + Partners, features a 45-foot tall grand lobby. The sustainably-designed project is expected to earn the first WELL certification for health and well-being ever won by a New York City office tower.
“425 Park Ave. is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create something exciting and bold,” said Robert Lapidus, president and Chief Investment Officer for developer L&L Holding.
L&L broke ground on the project in June 2015. Citadel, a Chicago-based hedge fund, finalized a 200,000 square-foot office lease in February 2016 at the 670,000-square-foot tower. Celebrated Chef Daniel Humm and restaurateur Will Guidara will locate their third New York City restaurant in the tower base.
