Design Commission Okays Cairn Pacific MF in NW Portland
Cairn Pacific received an approval from the Portland Design Commission for Con-way Block 291E, a seven-story multifamily development in downtown Portland. The full-block site is within Northwest Portland’s Con-way Master Plan area. The site along SW Raleigh St. currently serves as a parking lot for XPO Logistics.
Project plans include 192 apartment units, ground floor commercial space, and a two-story mass timber framed amenity pavilion. There will be one level of subterranean vehicle parking, which will also include 212 spaces for bicycles.
The building was designed by SERA Architects in a L-shape to wrap around a two-story amenity pavilion that’s linked to the main building by a second-level bridge. The developer will next seek building permits to commence construction. The property shares a super block site with Con-way’s Saltwood South MXU development.
