Desi Brothers Opening Two More Texas Grocery Stores

Desi Brothers says their stores are double the size of Sprouts but half the size of H-E-B. Desi Brothers, which specializes in products from the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East, will soon open stores in Round Rock and Leander.

The Austin-based company signed a lease for about 48,000 square feet in Round Rock Crossing — representing one of the largest open-air retail leases on the market in the Austin metro. On the northwest side of the metro, the company is building its new grocery store in Leander from the ground up as it expands its footprint beyond its current stores in North and South Austin. They already have two Austin-area stores up and going.

The Round Rock store renovation costs are $2 million. The store will employ about 30 people.
