Dermody Claims Former Berkeley Farms Facility in Hayward, Plans Redevelopment
Reno-based Dermody Properties acquired the former Berkeley Farms milk processing facility on 20.23 acres in Hayward, reportedly for $49.8 million. The existing facility at 25500 Clawiter Rd., which was owned by the Dean Foods Estate, will be will demolished for the redevelopment of LogistiCenter at Highway 92.
The development will consist of two Class A logistics buildings totaling 382,290 square feet. Each building will be able to accommodate between one and three tenants. Demolition work will begin next month with final delivery expected in Q2 2022.
Dermody Properties’ George Condon says, “The Hayward submarket has become one of the largest warehousing and distribution centers in the Bay Area and is the second-largest industrial market along the I-880 corridor.”
JLL’s Jason Ovadia represented the buyer. Leasing brokers on the project will be a JLL team of Ovadia, Greg Matter and Mike Murray.
