DePaul Team Takes Top Honors in Eisenberg Foundation Challenge

A DePaul University team’s proposal for redeveloping 7.9 acres of the Moody Bible Institute campus garnered top honors and $5,000 in scholarships in the 10th annual Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation Real Estate Challenge. Teams from seven select universities participated in the annual competition/academic exercise that focuses on a high-profile development/redevelopment project in the Chicago Metropolitan area.

Unlike its predecessors, this year’s competition was conducted in a virtual environment via a series of webinar presentations. Both the presenters and the judges participated from their own residences.

The DePaul team’s proposal, River Coast West, incorporated four multifamily towers, an upscale senior living tower, a student housing tower, a co-living building, a rehabilitation medical office center, 20,000 square feet of administrative offices, a new sports facility, and two retail buildings.

Additionally, the team’s proposal included a new park, church, recording studio, and a non-profit accelerator aimed at expanding MBI outreach.
