Mortenson Prefab Revival on Platte begins work

Prefab Builder Begins Denver Multifamily Project

Mortenson and joint venture partner Pinnacle Partners started work on a prefabricated multifamily project in Denver’s Sun Valley neighborhood. When finished in 2024, the Revival on Platte development will be 234,156 square feet, feature 200 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartment options across eight stories and include two levels of parking. Amenities will include a gym, business center and rooftop deck.

Construction Dive reports the project is part of a $120 million, 4-project fund portfolio assembled by Pinnacle Partners, which also includes developments in Nashville, Tennessee; Austin, Texas; and Avondale, Arizona.

Mortenson will build the entire structure using the contractor’s cold-formed metal stud, steel-framed structural system with prefabricated interior and exterior walls.

The Minneapolis-based contractor will use BLUvera — a panel manufacturer and affiliate of Mortenson — to prefabricate the walls and exterior panels offsite. Once trucked in, Mortenson will place the pieces with cranes. The panels will include plug-ins for plumbing, HVAC and electrical equipment, which the contractor says will improve quality and reduce waste.
