Denver Developer Converting Office Property to 368-Unit Apartment Units

The Garret Cos. is looking to turn a vacant 130,000-square-foot office building south of Denver into apartment units. The building, next to a Top Golf, will be demolished to make way for the apartments.

The 18.9-acre site in Centennial would be converted into 368 multifamily units. The Denver Business Journal reports that the company’s Havana multifamily project would include 14 buildings at 6901 S. Havana St.

The Garrett Cos. submitted a site plan for the project in April. The City Council still needs to approve it. Garrett’s Colin Wattleworth said, “Office space is not in demand in the submarket and is oversupplied.”

Information submitted to the council states that the proposed project would include a pool, spa, amenity courtyard, playground, dog park and multiple grilling stations. The clubhouse will feature a gym, yoga studio, private workstations, a game room, a coffee lounge and a conference room.

Last month, the company announced it would build a $90 million apartment community in Longmont.
