Denver Beer Business Getting Frothy
Beer is big in Colorado. The home of Coors, is also the home to dozens of homespun brewers. Two in particular, Great Divide Brewery & Roadhouse and the New Terrain Brewing Company have big plans.
The Great Divide Brewery & Roadhouse plans to open its fifth location at 9899 Schwab Way. The Denver Business Journal reports the new restaurant and taproom will be an 8,200-square-foot space with a 1,300-square-foot patio and will cost $5 million to build. It will seat over 300 thirsty guests. It hopes to open by year end and hire 80-100 people.
A Golden, Colorado brewer, New Terrain Brewing Co., purchased a building it was renting at 16401 Table Mountain Parkway for $6 million. New Terrain, which employs 32 people, currently has a 30-barrel brewhouse as well as a 10-barrel brewhouse that allows for the creation of experimental and small-batch beers. The building size has the capacity for producing 12,000 to 15,000 barrels per year.
