Demand Prompts MF Developer to Add Office Space
JMJ Development, which will develop luxury apartment project Villita Tower, is adding more space to its original plan. Specifically, the developer is increasing the height to 32 stories, the number of units to 221, and is adding approximately 4,000 square feet of office space. As a result, the development at Villita Street and Jack White Way along the River Walk, will cost $70 million to build.
The original plan didn’t include office space, but according to JMJ Chief Executive Tim Barton, growing demand for office space prompted the decision. “Some of the bigger companies are coming (downtown), which causes smaller users to need space as well,” Barton told the San Antonio Express-News.
Barton said he expects construction to begin in about a year, with the building to deliver approximately two and one-half years later.
