Demand for Crane-Served Buildings Increasing
A recent report from Houston-based Transwestern noted that an increase in steel-related manufacturing and growth in the auto industry will lead to a higher demand for crane-served buildings. These specialized buildings have large bridge cranes to help maneuver big, unwieldy products.
The report’s author, Transwestern Senior Vice President Steve Kozarits, noted that the auto industry is forecast to exceed its 2015 sales record of 17.4 million. This means that auto manufacturers, and their suppliers, are ramping up operations, which is driving absorption of crane-served buildings in parts of Michigan, Missouri, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi.
Because crane-served buildings are custom-tailored to tenant specifications, many businesses are finding that building a new facility could be the most cost-effective option when looking for new space.
