Del Taco Splitting From Texas

Del Taco is closing 12 of its 13 stores in Texas. The closures follow major expansion plans in the state announced four years ago, in which they expected to have opened at least 80 restaurants. The closing locations are in the Dallas metro area, Austin and San Antonio, where the costs reportedly outweighed the benefits this past year.

Despite the closures, Lake Forest-based Del Taco says the company will continue to expand in existing and new markets, including in California, where it hopes to open 27 new restaurants in the central part of the state.
