Deka Immobilien Pays $42M for Amazon Distribution Center

German investment firm Deka Immobilien acquired the 717,000-square-foot Amazon Gateway Distribution Center in Edwardsville, IL in a transaction valued at $42.3 million. Sellers Tristar Cos. and Pacific Coast Capital Partners were also developers of the asset at 3050 Gateway Commerce Center Dr. South, in the St. Louis metro.

Robert Stamm, Brian Corrigan, Brandon McMenomy, Andres Roldan and Steven Ward with Colliers International’s Investment Advisory Group represented the Frankfurt-headquartered buyer. Tristar and PCCP were represented by Steve Disse and Jeff Devine of Colliers’ Chicago-Rosemont office.

The acquisition is the third to be added to the buyer’s Deka-ImmobilienNordamerika fund (DINA) since its launch this past summer. Overall, the transaction is Deka’s fifth for the 2016 calendar year in the United States. The Stamm-led team represented Deka on all five transactions.
