increasing demand for data centers is causing a labor shortage

DEC-CIX Partners with Cyxtera’s South Side Data Center

DE-CIX, a leading carrier and data center neutral Internet Exchange (IX) operator, announces it has deployed a switch in Cyxtera’s Chicago data center (ORD1) at 350 E. Cermak in the South Side’s Douglas neighborhood.

The platform will be fully interconnected with the Cyxtera Digital Exchange, a multi-site layer 2 fabric extending access to Cyxtera’s ORD2 and ORD3 data centers, enabling seamless connectivity to customers from any of the three Cyxtera data center facilities serving the Chicago metro market.

DE-CIX Chicago’s deployment with Cyxtera marks the first IX to be available in any of the company’s Chicago data center facilities.

“We are delighted peering at DE-CIX Chicago is now available to customers in our Chicago data centers, and are excited to provide seamless access for our customers where they can leverage DE-CIX’s multi-service interconnection platform for peering and cloud connectivity,” said Mitch Fonseca, SVP and GM data center services at Cyxtera.
