DC Coworking Spaces Drops 4% in Q3
In the third quarter of 2023, the number of coworking spaces in the U.S. remained relatively stable, with only a slight increase of 0.15%, according to the latest report from CoworkingCafe.
Nationally, there were 6,172 coworking spaces, compared to 6,163 in the previous quarter. Manhattan led the U.S. with 270 flexible office venues, followed by Los Angeles with 267 and Washington, D.C., with 251. However, D.C. experienced a 4% decrease from the second quarter, and Manhattan saw an 11% decline.
According to the report, the median prices for coworking subscriptions in Washington, D.C., are below the national median. Virtual office subscriptions cost around $80 in D.C., while open workspaces decreased from $225 to $200, and dedicated desks fell to $379 from $399 in the second quarter. In terms of square footage, D.C. ranked third in the U.S., with 6.18 million square feet of coworking space, an 8% decrease from the second quarter.
