Davis, Goodfriend Form Self-Storage JV Following Syosset Acquisition

Boston-based real estate investment, development, and management firm The Davis Companies has entered into a joint venture with self-storage owner/operator GoodFriend Storage, following the acquisition of Syosset Self-Storage at 475 Underhill Blvd. in Syosset, NY. The acquisition is Davis’ 21st self-storage acquisition/development project.

Located on the affluent North Shore of Long Island, 475 Underhill has been operated by a private local ownership group for more than two decades. The planned conversion of the warehouse and enhancements to the property will optimize functionality, increase capacity, and strengthen the facility’s position as a high-quality self-storage destination serving Syosset and the broader Long Island market.

“Developing a programmatic partnership with GoodFriend has been a key goal for us for some time,” said Kevin Wong, VP of investments at Davis. “The venture represents an opportunity to expand our self-storage portfolio in the Long Island market with a partner that brings invaluable experience and a deep understanding and long history of the surrounding market.”
