Data Center Operator Eyeing $1.1B FW Location

Edged U.S. wants to build a data center on 186 acres in west Fort Worth. The Dallas Business Journal reports Edged is considering investing $1.1 billion across two phases through 2031 — $570 million in real property improvements and $525 million in equipment. The first phase would entail $270 million in construction by the end of 2028 and $300 million in equipment by Jan. 1, 2029. Edged is committed to employing at least 50 people across the two phases with a minimum annual salary of $73,000.

Edged is seeking incentives for the project. The Fort Worth Economic Development Department is proposing a 10-year tax break of 50% for business personal property taxes, potentially worth $18.2 million if the company meets the deadlines and other requirements. Council is scheduled to vote on the abatement March 31.

The department estimates the data center would generate $34.9 million for the city.

Edged opened a data center in Irving in 2025.
