Data center developer ACS has approached the Fort Worth City Council with a proposal that would offer incentives for its planned data center development north of town. The Fort Worth Report provided details on the incentives should the $2.2 billion project move forward.

The City’s incentives would offer up to 35% of the incremental increase in the value of business personal property tax with phase 1 of the project, increasing to 70% with the phase 2 investment. 

For its part, ACS would agree to complete the first phase by the end of 2031, with an investment of $240.8 million in real estate and $842.8 million in business personal property and the creation of 28 jobs for the 35% tax incentive. The second phase would be completed by the end of 2034, with $240.8 million in real estate and $842.8 million in business personal property and the creation of nine additional jobs. 

The city estimates the project could create $57.9 million in new tax revenue, which would pay back the tax breaks on the property.
