Dana to Invest $70M in Toledo Parkway Plant
Dana Holding Corp. will invest $70 million in a new axle plant on the former Jeep Parkway factory site in North Toledo, OH. The facility will build axles for next-generation Jeep Wranglers and an unidentified vehicle.
Automobiles have been built on the 111-acre site at 1000 Jeep Pkwy. for more than a century. The Jeep Wrangler ended production at the location in 2006. The Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority purchased the site and cleaned it up.
Last year the port, in partnership with NAI Harmon Group, completed a $5.5-million, 100,000-square-foot building on the site, in hopes that it would attract a tenant seeking modern space. Dana plans to use the existing building, and add on an additional 200,000 square feet.
