Goodsurf coming to Deep Ellum in Dallas

Dallas to Catch the Wave

Texas can’t get enough good waves. The state has now, or is planning to have over a dozen themed surf parks and another is on the way to Downtown Dallas. Goodsurf Dallas will open up at 317 S. Second Avenue. Goodsurf is opening at the former site of the Sandbar Cantina & Grill, which closed earlier this year after more than a decade in business.

The company says it will feature “the world’s most accessible and authentic surf wave technology.” The waves created by the technology are called “deep water stationary waves” and rise up to six feet tall. Goodsurf, a subsidiary of Dallas-tied Urban Entertainment Concepts, acquired the technology with its purchase of stationary surf wave company Citywave of North America.

The new surf spot will also have a bar, restaurant and beer garden. It will open in the first quarter of 2024 in Dallas’ Deep Ellum neighborhood. Construction is set to begin on the site this month.
