Dallas blue office building to be converted to apartments, maybe hotel

Dallas Investor to Convert Downtown Offices to Apartments, Maybe Hotel

Wolfe Investments is expecting to spend over $33 million to convert Dallas office space into apartments, but is also considering hotel rooms as well. The Dallas Business Journal reports a Wolfe spokesperson says having kitchens and washers and dryers in the units could be an added amenity for hotel guests.

The blue building at 211 N. Ervay St. is slated to turn into 238 individual units. Wolfe says the project will begin in March and take about a year. Partial demolition has started on the project, which will be designed by HKS and built out by Andres Construction.

The 7-Eleven store on the ground level is staying open through construction and may eventually be joined by other retail tenants such as restaurants.

The office building was designed by Thomas Stanley and built in 1958 by developer Leo Corrigan. Vacant since 1995, the building reopened in 2014 as offices after millions of dollars of renovations.
