Dallas-Based BBG Acquires Crown Appraisal Group

BBG, an independent commercial real estate due diligence firm, continues its expansion in Ohio with its acquisition of Ohio-based appraisal firm Crown Appraisal Group. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. This is BBG’s second acquisition in 2022 and significantly expands its presence in Ohio and the contiguous states.

For 30 years, Crown Appraisal Group has provided commercial real estate appraisal, market study, litigation support, appraisal review, construction monitoring, and other services to over 200 bank, mortgage correspondent, CMBS lender, property owner and other clients annually in Ohio and across the United States.

Crown Appraisal Group founder and owner Andrew Moye and Donald Miller were named Managing Directors and Dan Schiavoni was named Director. In addition, 22 people from Crown will be joining BBG as part of the acquisition.

About Erik Hamilton

Erik Hamilton, who has more than 15 years in CRE journalism, is a former staff writer with the Los Angeles Times and the Orange County Business Journal. In addition to The Times and the OCBJ, he was also a reporter and editor for Crittenden Research, The San Bernardino Sun and UPI. Erik also worked six years in CRE public relations with Los Angeles-based Hoyt Organization, where he was a Senior Account Executive. He later joined Lee & Associates where he served as the Director of Corporate Communications. There ,in addition to his work with Lee’s CEO, he managed 57 offices nationwide and provided PR, social media and media training for the offices. A graduate of UC Irvine, with a BA in history, he is an avid record collector where he continues to search for a rare Joy Division single.
