Dallas agency and builder agree to build mixed-income apartment project

Dallas Agency, Builder to Partner on Mixed-Income Apartment Project

A Dallas public agency and Sycamore Strategies have agreed to work together on a 189-unit new mixed-income housing project in Lake Highlands. The project, Cypress Creek at Forest Lane, would be located at 11520 N. Central Expressway and include a four-story midrise apartment building with a wrapped parking structure that would include a coworking space and a dog park. At least 100 of those units would be reserved for low-income households that earn between 30% and 80% of the area’s median income.

The Dallas Public Facility Corp. is able to acquire and develop land for public uses such as affordable housing. The Texas Department of Housing and Community Development awarded federal tax credits to the Cypress Creek project in 2021. Dallas City Council is expected to consider it during an April council meeting.
