Dacon Completes Natick Expansion for Kula Bio

Dacon Corporation has completed the expansion of Kula Bio’s Technology & Development Center in Natick, MA, adding manufacturing, office, and laboratory spaces essential for its growth.  This marks Dacon’s second project with Kula Bio, a six-year-old tough tech startup in the agricultural biologicals market.

Kula Bio manufactures Kula-N, a non-GMO microbial product that serves as a replacement to synthetic nitrogen fertilizers, reportedly enhancing crop yield while minimizing environmental impact.

Kevin Quinn, Dacon’s CEO, said, “This expansion of Kula Bio’s production facilities enhances their innovative manufacturing processes and creates differentiated supply chains in the agriculture industry.  Better soil quality equals better health. Their work in improving agricultural outcomes is important to all of us.”

In January 2022, Kula Bio secured $50 million in Series A funding led by Lowercarbon Capital to build manufacturing facilities near key agricultural producers.  This year, the company was recognized as one of the Top Ten Organic Fertilizer Services Providers by Agri Business Review.
