CyrusOne to Build Two Data Centers in Aurora

Cyrus One, a data center provider with facilities in Aurora and Lombard, is eyeing an expansion with three new towers and two new buildings.

The proposed data centers will span more than 500,000 square feet on a 32-acre site located across from Interstate 88 on Bilter Road in Kendall County, reported the Chicago Tribune. The Bilter Road campus is close to CyrusOne’s current Aurora facility. The company also plans to build three telecommunications towers, with two located on the Bilter Road campus and one on the existing campus.

The new development would be in two buildings, one 411,000 square feet and the second 150,000 square According to plans submitted by Cyrus One to plans to Aurora lawmakers, the two new towers on the new site would be 350 feet tall. The additional tower on the current site would be 300 feet. The new buildings would be on one of the last pieces of property left in the Butterfield Planned Development district.
