CyrusOne Expands Santa Clara Data Center Campus
CyrusOne’s data center campus in Santa Clara is expanding. The REIT purchased eight acres adjacent to land that is currently under development.
The acreage will house CyrusOne’s second Santa Clara facility, and will create the largest mission-critical concentration in Silicon Valley delivering over 100MV of capacity. The campus will be able to generate up to 27MWs of energy using onsite generation, giving tenants more pricing power in the market.
“Part of our mission at CyrusOne is to help the world’s leading technology companies power this new exciting digital era we all live in,” said CyrusOne CTO Kevin Timmons. “Continuing our expansion in Silicon Valley will help our customers turn their visions into reality.”
Timmons pointed out that when it comes to technology, speed is a differentiator. “Our track record demonstrates that we build data centers faster than anyone in the world,” he noted.
The REIT, which owns 45 data centers worldwide, works with 1,000 customers including more than 205 Fortune 1000 companies.
