CVS Leases Two-Level Retail Space at Astor Building

CBRE represented ownership in a 19,350-square-foot retail lease at the Astor Building, 217 Broadway, with CVS Pharmacy. The drugstore chain will occupy 6,850 square feet on part of the ground floor and 12,500 square feet on the second floor of the historic property in Downtown Manhattan.

The CBRE team of Bruce Surry, David LaPierre and Kristen Crossman represented the ownership, Columbus Properties, Inc., which acquired the property in 1983 and completed extensive renovations.

“The retail space at the Astor Building offers amazing visibility with direct site lines from One World Trade Center and the Fulton Transit Center and an incredible branding opportunity – flanked on either side by landmarks such as St. Paul’s Chapel and City Hall,” said LaPierre.

Newmark’s Ariel Schuster, Brandon Eisenman and TJ Cholnoky represented CVS Pharmacy in the 15-year lease.
