Customs and Border Protection Moving to TIA Executive Terminal

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is moving to its new location, at Tucson International Airport’s old executive terminal. The Tucson Airport Authority (TAA) board of directors recently approved a lease for the space at 7081 S. Plumer Ave. CBP will relocate from its current spot at Tucson International Airport’s main terminal to the new digs, likely by the end of this year.

The plan includes a $1.8 million renovation of the former executive terminal, which has largely been unused since air traffic controllers relocated to the west side of the airfield in September, 2016. According to the TAA, the relocation will provide CBP with better visibility for aircraft arriving at the airport. TIA is a designated U.S. Port of Entry.

“Not only is this a better use of TAA facilities and resources, it will give our arriving international customers a better and more welcoming impression of Tucson and our airport,” said TAA’s Danette Bewley.
