CushWake Retained to Sell Stanford White-Designed Commercial Townhouse in Murray Hill
Cushman & Wakefield has been hired to sell the Collectors Club Building, a Stanford White-designed commercial townhouse at 22 E. 35th St. in Midtown Manhattan’s Murray Hill neighborhood. The firm’s John Ciraulo, Craig Waggner, Mike Kavanagh and Carri Lyon will lead marketing efforts on behalf of the seller, Collectors Club Inc.
“This will be the first time the property has traded hands since 1937,” said Waggner. “The building is ideal for a wide range of occupiers, including government, medical office, nonprofit, family office, social or private club, alumni association center or an art gallery, to name a few.” The property will be delivered vacant for immediate possession.
Designed in 1901, 22 E. 35th was originally built as a residence for Thomas B. Clarke—a close friend of Stanford White and a prominent banker and businessman, art collector, dealer and decorator—to house his extensive art collection.
