CushWake Arranges Sale of 2,400-Acre Imperial County Farmland

Cushman & Wakefield brokered the $27.5-million sale of a 2,411-acre portfolio of agricultural farmland located in Imperial County. Known as Starr Ranch, the portfolio is located in the city of Holtville and consists of high-quality vegetable ground, including 527 organic acres.

The property sold to Peri & Sons Farms, a family farming operation based in Nevada, which is expanding its footprint in the region and has long-term plans to farm the property.

Cushman & Wakefield’s Matt Davis and Melanie Haynes of the firm’s Land Advisory Group in San Diego represented the seller.

“Peri & Sons recognized this is a rare, contiguous 2,411-acre farmland portfolio located in one of the top winter vegetable producing regions in the state of California,” said Davis.

Haynes added, “This was a great opportunity to advise the family as they considered how to transition from a closely held multi-generational farmland asset into a diversified portfolio.”
