Crypto Miner Riot Developing Site Outside Dallas

Riot, an industry leader in bitcoin mining, is developing a 265 acre large-scale, 1 gigawatt development in Corsicana, about an hour south of Dallas.

At full capacity, the development is expected to generate enough energy to power approximately 750,000 households. Riot is investing $333 million into the site, which the company hopes will have 400 megawatts of capacity once it gets going.

The facility is expected to begin mining and hosting operations next July and create about 270 jobs when the first phase comes on line. The first phase of the project, called the Expansion, includes land acquisition, transmission construction and an immersion-cooling infrastructure unit. A number of future phases are planned over the next three years.

Riot plans to partner with Priority Power to support the Expansion. Priority will aid with site management, utility interconnection, purchase agreements and power load flexibility.
