Crescent Communities, Nuveen Plan $600M Mixed-Use Tower in Charlotte’s South End

Crescent Communities and partner Nuveen Real Estate have completed the land closing for a 31-story mixed-use development between Charlotte’s South End neighborhood and Uptown CBD. The $600-million tower, Carson South End, will site on three acres on the intersection of South Tryon Street and Carson Boulevard.

The project will include nearly 560,000 square feet of LEED-certified Class A office space, 10,000 square feet of retail space, a 200-key luxury boutique hotel (being developed in partnership with ABC Investments & Management Company) and more than 100 multifamily units. Construction is expected to start by the end of 2022 and be completed in 2025.

Crescent Communities’ portfolio of includes more than 22 million square feet of office, mixed-use and industrial developments representing nearly $2.4 billion of total investment. The firm’s’ office and mixed-use developments recently completed or currently under construction in Charlotte include Ally Charlotte Center, Elizabeth on Seventh and Escent Research Park.
