CRE Veteran James R. Brooks Named President of BH Properties

Los Angeles-based BH Properties named real estate veteran James R. Brooks president of the privately held, national real estate investment firm. Brooks, who previously served seven years as president of Topa Management Company, brings more than 30 years of principal-based, C-suite level operating leadership and hands-on experience.

BH Properties’ Steve Gozini says “Jim is a veteran in the real estate industry, and brings an expertise and skillset that will ensure an even more efficient and secure platform for our lenders, tenants, and employees. While I still am involved in the day-to-day operation of the firm, I can now focus more time on the growth and performance of our portfolio.”

Previously, Brooks also served at several national and regional real estate firms including Angelo, Gordon & Co., Morgan Stanley Real Estate Fund, The Koll Company, Tishman Speyer Properties, Empire Commercial Real Estate, and Marcus & Millichap affiliates, Pacific Property Company and Urban Housing Group. Brooks has directed more than $1.9 billion in acquisitions, development and financings.
