CRE and Veterans: United as One
In this weekend’s special Veterans edition of Connect Daily, we get to know some veterans within the commercial real estate industry, and discuss how their time serving on the battlefield has impacted their outlook and performance inside the boardroom. Connect Media thanks these – and all – veterans for their service.
Veterans’ unique skills and dynamic experience provide a valuable resource within any company. As such, various commercial real estate companies, including JLL, Cushman & Wakefield, and others across America, have initiatives to support and hire those who have served. In looking at the numbers, Blackstone has more than 50,000 veterans working for the company, and CBRE has roughly 1,800.
The symbiotic relationship between the private and public sector in this regard provides a great opportunity to better the nation. As Blackstone’s CEO, Chairman and Co-founder Stephen A. Schwarzman, who served as a U.S. Army reservist, said, “These men and women are hardworking, adaptable, collaborative, reliable, and possess the highest integrity. We look forward to support our country’s veterans and their loved ones.”
