Cracker Barrel Acquires Maple Street Biscuit Co. for $36M
Lebanon, TN-based Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Inc. has acquired Jacksonville-based fast-casual concept Maple Street Biscuit Co. for $36 million in an all-cash deal. Maple Street’s portfolio is currently comprised of 28 company-owned and five franchise-owned restaurants in seven states.
Cracker Barrel plans to convert its fast-casual concept Holler & Dash Biscuit House units into Maple Street Biscuit Co. locations in the coming months. Maple Street was founded by Scott Moore and Gus Johnson in 2012. Moore will remain as CEO and will report to Sandra Cochran, president and CEO of Cracker Barrel.
“The breakfast- and lunch-focused fast casual category is an attractive segment, and our experience with Holler & Dash has reinforced this belief,” said Cochran. “We have long admired Maple Street Biscuit Co. with its emphasis on made-from-scratch food and hospitality.”
