CPS Energy Launches an RFP for Conservation Programs

CPS Energy formally launched a request for proposals for conservation and energy efficiency programs to develop the next phase of its Save for Tomorrow Energy Plan (STEP). The FlexSTEP RFP seeks to blend more traditional programs with innovative solutions through a global outreach effort. The utility’s business approach is to think globally while acting locally.

The severe impact of February’s winter weather storm in Texas demonstrates the relationship between year-round conservation and energy efficiency programs that enhance energy reliability, says CPS. The goal of the FlexSTEP RFP is to create additional programs that are forward thinking, and CPS Energy is working to improve the tools it uses to help customers proactively manage energy usage, the company indicates.
