Coworking Company Convene Closes Boston Location Amid COVID-19 Outbreak

Coworking company Convene has closed its location in downtown Boston in response to the ongoing outbreak of COVID-19.

The New York-based company also announced the temporary closure of 11 locations in New York City, nine locations in Chicago and sites in Philadelphia, Washington and Los Angeles. Convene’s location in Boston is in the city’s financial district at One Boston Place. All locations being temporarily closed are expected to remain that way through March 31, although the company has noted that dates will be re-evaluated in the next few weeks.

All locations across Convene’s portfolio are closed while most WorkPlace locations will remain open. At locations that are remaining open, the company has applied additional cleaning measures that include more frequent cleanings, and sanitizing surfaces like railings, doorknobs and elevator buttons. The WorkPlace locations remaining open will operate without Convene staff, culinary services, or Nourish (coffee/snacks). All cafes and public spaces will be closed.
