Dallas Cowboys To Spend Over $1B on Stadium Revamp

Under an agreement, the Dallas Cowboys will contribute $750 million, and the City of Arlington will pony up $273 mllion to revamp the city-owned AT&T Stadium. The deal would also extend the team’s lease for another 15 years, until 2055. The original lease for the Cowboys was signed in 2009 and runs until 2039.

The city’s contribution would be generated from voter-approved venue taxes. The team would pay $2 million in base rent and $500,000 in naming rights. Enhancements would include traffic flow, pedestrian safety and overall event operations.

A vote on the matter will come up later this month.

AT&T Stadium is not just home to the Cowboys, Texas high school football plays its 12 state championship games there. NCAA college games are played there as well, include the Cotton Bowl and Big 12 Championship.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be held at AT&T Stadium, with a total of 9 games.
